Denver, CO (April 25, 2018) – PCL Construction is pleased to announce that the Tempe Town Lake Downstream Dam Replacement and I-91 Brattleboro Bridges projects received Grand Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

The awards were presented at ACEC’s 2018 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala, where projects are recognized for their outstanding engineering accomplishments. This is the fourth award for Tempe Town Lake, which received a Regional Best Project award from Engineering News-Record Southwest, a Judges Choice Award from ACEC Phoenix, an Excellence in Concrete Construction Award from the American Concrete Institute of Arizona, and was named Project of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers Phoenix. This is the third recognition for the I-91 Brattleboro Bridge, which received the Eugene C. Figg Medal at the International Bridge Conference and was named the 2017 Project of the Year by Slag Cement Association.

At the time of the projects’ completion, Tempe Town Lake Downstream Dam was the world’s largest hydraulically controlled crest-gate dam, and the I-91 Brattleboro Bridge was Vermont’s largest construction endeavor since the interstate system was first built.
