Jack Sample, regional vice president, leads building operations across Denver Buildings, California Buildings and Hawaii, overseeing offices and their surrounding satellite operations in each region. His path to the construction industry began at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and discovered an interest in applying his aptitude for math to a practical, team-driven field.

Sample joined PCL as an intern during his time at UCLA and has built his career with the company over more than three decades, including that initial internship year. Since joining full time in 1994, he has progressed through roles that include field engineer and construction manager, gaining experience across projects and markets.

Throughout his career, Sample has been involved in several high-profile projects that influenced his professional development and perspective on construction’s impact. Work on the STAPLES Center, now known as Crypto.com Arena, represents one of the most meaningful milestones, reflecting how construction can contribute to the revitalization of urban areas. His experience also includes projects at Dodger Stadium, where long-standing client relationships supported continued collaboration, and the Banc of California Stadium for Los Angeles Football Club. These projects highlight both the technical work delivered and the importance of building and maintaining strong client partnerships.

In his current role, Sample focuses on supporting teams across regions and helping individuals advance in their careers. Mentorship and professional development remain central to his leadership approach, shaped by his own experience working alongside colleagues who influenced his growth. He is committed to creating opportunities for others and contributing to a culture that supports long-term career development.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Sample serves on the board of the American Cancer Society, supporting research and advocacy efforts connected to a cause that is personally meaningful to him. His involvement reflects a broader commitment to community engagement and giving back beyond the workplace.
