Raj Vaidya, a licensed Professional Engineer specializing in advanced water treatment, provides oversight on PCL’s largest industrial water projects for manufacturing, data centers and mission-critical facilities.
Although Vaidya’s first passion was physics, he shifted his career path toward engineering, inspired by his civil engineer father. This influence motivated Vaidya to pursue multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering.
While the beginning of his career was dedicated solely to engineering, Vaidya transitioned to role with PCL after being influenced by Ankur Talwar, district manager of PCL’s Civil Infrastructure Division in the western U.S. After serving as the engineer of record on three PCL projects led by Talwar, Vaidya was inspired by the company’s ability to uphold high standards of excellence, even on the most complex projects. He observed that PCL consistently met project specifications in terms of quality and scope completion, maintained strong client relationships, and avoided cutting corners, even under challenging circumstances, all qualities that spoke volumes about its culture and leadership support.
As water becomes an increasingly scarce resource, expertise in water regulations and reuse technologies is critical for any water infrastructure project. Vaidya’s technical knowledge, combined with PCL’s longstanding relationships and experience in building water infrastructure projects, positions the firm as a leader in this competitive market. The complexity of building and operating these projects demands that owners select general contractors who understand essential design, construction, and legislative considerations associated with water infrastructure and industrial manufacturing, all areas in which Vaidya excels. He takes pride in being a trusted resource for clients and colleagues, building relationships based on mutual respect.
Vaidya serves as a committee member for multiple industry organizations, including the Water Environment Federation and the American Water Works Association.
