Alaska Airlines’ Concourse C Lounge at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport provides 7,000 square feet of unparalleled lounge experience for travelers to relax and recharge before or in-between flights. The fresh design made way for updated restrooms, a commercial kitchen, high-end finishes, and sprawling ceilings that maximize the natural light while offering stunning views of the main runway and the Olympic Mountains.

Our Special Projects division was brought into the project when the schematic design was 30 percent complete, which provided our team the ability to collaboratively work with the design partner to ensure project success. The site showed years of partial remodels that required demolition of the existing space during evening hours to not affect operations of nearby tenants. The separate demolition permit allowed the design team to see what existed in the space in real-time, instead of relying on as-built information. As the design progressed, we provided a stronger sense of cost certainty and constructability feedback while identifying long-lead items that could affect the schedule. Recognizing long-lead items early on allowed us to integrate these into the schedule and quickly mobilize once the building permit was issued.

Now open, the Alaska Airlines Concourse C Lounge offers guests a relaxing oasis in the midst of traveling.
