The Bonnybrook Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) included the construction of a 29 million liter-per-day capacity pump station. The new pump station supplies water for existing plant operations and delivers cooling water to the nearby Shepard Energy Center.

Since the project was integrated with the existing plant, it was essential for us to complete construction seamlessly without any disturbance to the ongoing operations.

The project’s proximity to the Bow River meant the site had sandy soil conditions, which were less than ideal for construction. To save costs, we explored an alternative solution to using grout injection as a soil stabilization technique. Instead, we removed loose sand and filled with non-shrink lean mix concrete, a method that saved the client significant money.
