The Hillcrest Solar project, a 260 megawatt solar-powered electrical generation facility with related interconnection facilities, is currently the largest solar project under construction in the state of Ohio. It is one of the first utility-scale solar projects to complete the Ohio Power Siting Board permitting process successfully and was awarded the necessary certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to Construct an Electric Generation Facility.

The Hillcrest Solar Project brings more to the Brown County community than clean and sustainable power; it brings an opportunity for local academics to explore, learn and succeed. Hillcrest has concluded education cooperation and financial funding agreements with Southern State Community College, which will enable site visits for students in technical programs and will create an education fund seeded with $60,000 at commercial operation date and $7,000 each year after.
