With approximately 250,000 modules, the Loyalist Solar Project is an 85 megawatt utility-scale, ground-mount solar facility located on 400 acres of land.
The project was developed and owned as a partnership between the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) and BluEarth Renewables. Together, they create economic opportunities and capacity building for MBQ. Any First Nation employment opportunities are given to MBQ on a priority basis. The project also creates municipal tax revenues for the life of the project and contributes toward the province of Ontario’s Long-Term Energy Plan for clean sources of energy generation.
