St. Vital Centre boasts over 150 stores and restaurants catering to the community of Winnipeg. The project included re redevelopment of the existing Sears building;  extensive structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades; envelope replacement and construction of a new clerestory building. PCL’s experienced Special Projects division carefully planned the entire construction process and focused on value engineering to ensure no re-work took place. When the tendered budget came back substantially higher than the client’s budget, we completed cost saving exercises to keep the project moving forward. As a result of this successful redevelopment, PCL and the client are continuing to foster a strong relationship built on mutual trust and understanding.
